From this view one
could imagine that you were in a mountain top meadow, surrounded by a
conifer forest. But in reality it is in a desert! Much of the desert
woodlands in the Antelope Valley have been plowed under for farming
and even more for roads, parking lots, strip malls etc.
There are other desert woodlands in the Antelope Valley and in Southern California but most have become overgrown with houses, cars, trailers and so forth. In Palmdale itself, right next to Plant 42 is a large grove of Joshua Trees, how long will that last? |
